The Board is made up of three (3) full members and currently has two (2) alternate members. The Board's responsibilities include monitoring public health and environmental matters. The Board sets policy for issues concerning the above and oversees the staff of the Health Department. An applicant needs no special knowledge, but should be willing and able to give necessary time, to be conscientious in attending to duties and meetings, and willing to learn.

Members serve a 3 year terms Interviewed and appointed by the Board of Selectmen.

Meetings

The Board of Health meets at the Swansea Town Hall Annex (the old Bark St. School) located at 68 Stevens Road promptly at 6:15pm. All future meetings are scheduled at the end of the previously held meeting.
